Helpful beginner videos
I had stumbled across LeeLeFever videos a few weeks into this course and found them extremely helpful to learn the new language of web 2.0. He has created 68 videos on YouTube but has 11 that are applicable to our class. (Podcasting, Blogs, Web Search Strategies, Social Networking, Twitter, Social Media, Online Photo Sharing, Social Bookmarking, World Wide Web, RSS, and Wikis all in Plain English.) He is able to break down and illustrate what it is and how to use it. This was one of those, "I wish I had thought of that" moments seeing them. I would suggest to Dennis that he could alert students to http://twitter.com/leelefever on the first day of the course for a simple introduction to these terms. This would have been a great project idea...

Interested bikers
Wanted to suggest a blog to read for those who enjoy biking. On Dennis's blog page, scroll down to D'arcy Norman's blog and click on it. He is an avid biker and photographer and has taken some great pictures and videos while riding his bike. He has a 4 minute video explaining how he took one of his best shots-worth viewing if you know how to work with a 10mm wide angle lens. He's from Calgary and is involved with an Alberta ride to Conquer Cancer. More good pics...

Kin Cofino Quote
I can truly connect with Kin Cofino's thoughts about developing and expanding my professional learning community. I am extremely anxious but the more I do it, I can see that I will become more comfortable with this and I look forward to interacting with other reading colleagues as we are often a small department in the middle school and secondary school settings.

Day Two of new course
I am trying to do this for the second time. By this time next Thursday I hope that I can show my husband and son how to blog, insert an image, and even copy a video into this "thing." Wish me luck. You'll see the results of my efforts...I tried insert a beautiful image and do you see it here? I don't. This then disappeared when I clicked on the arrow back. I can't believe I found this again-when I scrolled down to click save now I saw "return to list of posts." It worked! I found it! I think I'll try the image again. Once again, blank. Dennis tried to help me but we'll have to try that next Thursday. I don't even want to try a video today.

First blog ever.. I took typing in high school on electric typewriters! Now this...It reminds me of the ditto masters-purple passion masters in the copy room-remember getting the blue ink on your clothes and hands? We were so excited for thermal master making machines and then came copy machines and risos...ones that even collate and staple! I hope I can get used to this!
